I have been pleasantly surprised with how much I like the product so far (so much so that I went back and bought the other jar that was there). Wanted to try something new, so for $7 for a 2 oz. On Amazon there is a travel-size three pack of the different variations, which I love bc I can experiment.Īs far are chemicals are concerned, the ECRU and Kevin Murphy products are more 'natural' but the Nioxin is basically a science project.ĭuring a recent trip to Marshalls I stumbled across 18.21 Man Made Hair Wax in the mens clearance section. That's a real YMMV thing between their products bc of the kind of style you want. ![]() And/or Nioxin 3D Intensive Xtrafusion Treatment which again provides some hold.įinally, for true styling I use Kevin Murphy pastes, clays or waxes. ![]() I also add in ECRU Marine Thickening Balm which is more hold and style than just a thickening product despite the name. I can actually go out with nothing else in my hair w the Nixon Spray, the others aren't as effective. I'm super liberal with them on wet hair, I towel just a little, and then blow dry. It's crazy expensive but there are lots of drugstore brands including Rusk and even Sea Salt Spray. They make a ton of those kinds of sprays and serums but that one works best for me. I've tried a ton and the best I've found yet is Nioxin Thickening Spray in the white bottle. The key I've found is pre-styling, texturizing products. It's just gonna fall flat after 5 minutes. Which means that lighter products aren't going to provide the hold needed to keep it voluminous or in place. ![]() Fine hair is also limp at lot of the times, like mine. Old thread but it was a top result in my search for this so. Add on one by one depending on intensity of style and how damn humid it is. TLDR: Nixon thickening pre-styling spray + ECRU light hold thickening balm/serum + Kevin Murphy wax/clay/paste YMMV but recommend the travel variety pack.
